20 weeks! Is it a Boy or a Girl?

Tim has been home for the last two weeks on a pretty intense rotation in internal medicine. But it has been soooo nice to have him home. I have been busy at work just doing what I do. Last week we braved Babies R Us for the first time ever. Overwhelming was how we felt the minute we walked into the store! How could something so small require so much stuff! Needless to say we registered but are waiting to purchase anything until we know if we need to ship these things to Hawaii or not. Exciting either way!

This last Friday Tim had the day off so we were both able to attend our 20 week baby appointment. Because this was a more intensive visit we had to go to the Sacramento Hospital to get the "Big" ultrasound done.

Not wanting to know the sex of the baby, Tim watched as the ultrsonographer took the necessary measurments diverting his eyes as the scan went south. According to Tim everything looked to be in order...five fingers, five toes, two arms, two legs, lips, nose, structurally normal brain, and an actively beating heart with four chambers. I got to watch as she took some fun pictures for us to have. The baby was very active, moving around the entire time often sitting with his/her hands folded perfectly under his/her chin. The ultrasonographer said the baby was very photogenic...must be my genes.

We were so happy to see the baby again. We had been getting, or feeling rather, little glimpses of the being inside the womb, but we got to SEE the baby again! So cool...

Tomorrow we head to the bay area to meet with the owners of Keauhou Veterinary Clinic to negotiate Tim's contract. I am excited to meet them, and we are excited to see how things go. We are very ready to know where we are heading after Tim's graduation.

  2. Sills, you look so beautiful (and tiny!)! What a crazy exciting time. I still get overwhelmed walking into Babies R Us. Can't wait to hear more about Hawaii!
