So it has been a full month since we updated, sorry. What can we say we have been VERY busy!
More to come after the big appointment! I promise it won't take a month until the next post!
Tim had a very successful trip out to Kona, Hawaii. The owners of the practice wine and dined him (sushi dinners, a zodiac boat trip to snorkel along the Kealakakuha bay) and he did a working interview with them for two days. Tim made a good impression and on the final day they offered him a job. We have been making a pros and cons list about moving to Hawaii and the pros are defiantly outweighing the cons! We are looking forward to meeting with Dr. and Mrs. Head at the end of the month to discuss a contract, etc. It is still up in the air but there is a good chance that we will be off to Hawaii in July! SO EXCITING!
I had a great time with my co-workers down in Irvine for the annual Applied Behavior Analysis Conference. Got to hear some good lectures and took home some info that I can hopefully apply to some of my cases. Needless to say my trip was not as exciting as the one to Hawaii.
As soon as Tim got back from Hawaii (literally less than 12 hours later) we headed up to Northstar a Tahoe for Erin and Justin's wedding. They are close friends of ours from college. Tim and I ran with Justin at Davis and Erin was his GF who is an amazing person that we became friends with immediately. We all have so much in common. Erin was in our wedding as a bridesmaid and Justin or as we call him "Hurd" was part of the entrainment at the wedding (he was the guy going on 100 mile long bike rides the morning of the wedding on his fancy bike that you could easily pick up with your pinkie finger... aka the guy who does Ironman Triathlons). They had a beautiful wedding weekend up in the snow and were the first couple to get married at the Ritz in Northstar! We felt so honored to be a part of their special day! Congrats Justin and Erin!
At the Ritz overlooking Northstar Tahoe.
We were both in the wedding (we don't usually match that well)
After the wedding Tim left the Baby, Bouncer, and I and stayed up in Tahoe for a two week externship. Although he did enjoy working at the practice, business is slow up there and that clinic was only able to offer him a part time job. However he did get in a few great days of snowboarding with his brother and friends. It was rough getting calls from Tim on a ski lift as I was driving to work. He owes me next year!
As you can see Bouncer was very happy that Tim was home.
Through all of this we were able to both make it to our baby appointment on March 4th. Poor Tim was a great dad/husband and drove all the way down from Tahoe in a snow storm the night before to make it to the appointment. We thought we were going to get to see the baby via ultrasound but we were wrong:( The Doctor poked and pushed on my stomach and listened to the baby's heartbeat. It was going strong at 148 beats per minute. Everything checked out excellent and we have another appointment on March 26th. The BIG APPOINTMENT where we could find out the sex of the baby if we wanted to. But we aren't so until August the color is a gender neutral green! HA! The Doctor said we were in the minority not finding out the sex of the baby.
We just had a great weekend. We met Angela, Mike, and Carter in Alameda at a winery where Tim and Michael got to taste. Ang and I got to be the designated drivers, lucky us! It was great to see them and catch up. After that we took a quick trip into San Francisco so that Tim could get fitted for his triathlon uniform (they are going to be pretty amazing!). It was a beautiful day in the city totally clear with picture perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Next stop was in Martinez to visit mom and dad. We surprised my mom with a bottle of wine and a cake for her early birthday present. Happy Birthday Mom!
The big new development is that I am not crazy! For the last week or so I have thought that I have felt the baby kicking very lightly, but was not totally sure if it was that or just normal bodily functions. Well today Tim was resting his head on my belly and out of no where this thud kicked him square in the ear! No mistaking that one! Welcome to fatherhood. He was able to feel and hear the kick. I was so excited that he got to feel it and to know that I wasn't crazy or gassy!
16 weeks!
